Will McIntosh (William D. McIntosh) is a Hugo-Award-winning science fiction author. He has published dozens of short stories in magazines such as'' Asimov's Science Fiction, Strange Horizons, Lightspeed Magazine, Daily Science Fiction'', and ''Interzone''. His stories are also frequently reprinted in different "Year's Best" anthologies. McIntosh's first two novels, ''Soft Apocalypse,'' and ''Hitchers'' were published by Night Shade Books in April 2011 and February 2012, respectively. == Life ==
McIntosh attended the University of Georgia, where he received a Ph.D. in social psychology in 1990. Since then he has been a professor at Georgia Southern, where he teaches different psychology classes.〔(Psychology Department Faculty Page ), Georgia Southern, accessed Dec. 3, 2010.〕 His research has focused on topics such as internet dating and romantic relationships, "happiness and goals, collecting behavior, psychological aspects of film and television, and the relationship between psychology and Zen Buddhism."〔(Psychology Department Faculty Page ), Georgia Southern, accessed Dec. 3, 2010.〕 Georgia Southern's College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences honored him with their "Distinction in Teaching" award in 2002. McIntosh has since moved to the College of William and Mary to teach introductory psychology classes and focus on his writing.
